In 1974 a company named Mateflex first invented modular sports surface.
This is an injection molded product made of virgin polypropylene and was first designed as an alternative to the acrylic coating systems because it does not crack over time.
Mateflex surfaces all offer shock absorption, great looks, a 15-20 year life expectancy, and several features that are un-matched by the competition.
Built-in expansion and contraction joints allow the surface to be solidly attached at the perimeter of the concrete base so there is no potential for the surface to ever shift or buckle or sustain storm damage.
Its solid tile locking system allows it to perform like a true gym floor with no “slop” or side to side movement built into the locking system common with the competitor’s tiles.
